Import MetaMask via CSV

Export and import your MetaMask transactions

MetaMask doesn't provide native CSV export. This tutorial shows how to export your transactions from Etherscan and import them into Taxes Crypto.

⚠️

Important: Public address only

Etherscan exports only contain your public address and on-chain history — never your Secret Recovery Phrase. CSV exports don't include EUR values, so some token transfers may need a price review after import.

1

Find your wallet address

Open MetaMask and click on your address to copy it to clipboard.

💡 Your public address starts with 0x and is safe to share. Never reveal your Secret Recovery Phrase.

2

Export from Etherscan

Go to etherscan.io, paste your address in the search bar. On the Transactions tab, click Download CSV Export.

💡 Etherscan lets you export up to 5,000 transactions per CSV for free — select the full tax year.

3

Export token transactions

Do the same for ERC-20 Token Txns and Internal Txns tabs if applicable.

💡 Token transfers (ERC-20) don't always include a EUR value; our system flags these so you can review them.

4

Import into Taxes Crypto

Go back to Taxes Crypto, select Generic CSV Import and upload your CSV files. Our system will automatically detect the Etherscan format.

💡 Our system automatically detects the Etherscan format — no manual column mapping needed.

Security tips

Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase or private key with anyone

Your public address is safe to share; explorers only display public on-chain data

Always check the explorer URL (etherscan.io) before downloading

Delete the CSV file after import and keep a backup in a secure location
