Generic CSV import

Import transactions from any exchange using custom column mapping.

If your exchange is not directly supported by Taxes Crypto, you can use the generic CSV import with column mapping. This method allows you to match the columns in your CSV file to the fields expected by Taxes Crypto.

Important: File format

Your CSV file must contain at minimum: date, transaction type, cryptocurrency, amount, and price. Excel files (.xlsx) are not supported — convert them to CSV first.

Export your transactions

From your exchange or wallet, export your transaction history in CSV format. Check your platform's documentation to find the export option.

💡 Most exchanges offer a CSV export in the settings or transaction history section.

Check your CSV file

Open the CSV file with a text editor or spreadsheet to verify its contents. Make sure it contains the necessary columns: date, operation type, amount, cryptocurrency, unit price.

💡 If your file is in Excel (.xlsx), use 'Save As > CSV' to convert it.

Start the generic import

In Taxes Crypto, go to 'Platforms' > 'Add a platform'. Select 'Generic CSV Import'. Upload your CSV file.

💡 The maximum file size is 10 MB.

Configure column mapping

Taxes Crypto displays the first lines of your file. For each required field (date, type, amount, crypto, price), select the corresponding column in your file. Also indicate the date format used.

💡 If your file contains a header row, Taxes Crypto uses it to facilitate the mapping.

Validate and import

Review the transaction preview after mapping. If everything looks correct, confirm the import. Taxes Crypto automatically analyses and categorises your transactions for tax calculation.

💡 If there is a mapping error, you can cancel and start over without losing your existing data.
